The other evening when it was cold and windy, the boys wanted to go outside and play. I told them they weren't allowed, but they could call the neighbor boy over to play with their tractors if he wanted to. At one point they were in the kitchen and Nathan asked him where he goes during the day. Brent (the neighbor boy) said that he goes to school. Nathan asked him who watched him before he went to school when his Mom worked. Brent says that his Mom watched him because she stayed home and doesn't work. Nathan gave him a puzzled look and said, "Huh? Your Mom doesn't work?" in an incredulous voice.
I told Nathan and Brent that his Mom does work, she just doesn't work outside the house. That she stayed home like Grandma Deb does. Nathan said that Grandma Deb doesn't stay home. Out of the mouth of babes!
I guess that I am glad that Nathan is well-adjusted to the fact that it is normal for Mom's to work outside the house.

That's too funny. I bet your dad would get a kick out hearing that one.
