Teeth irony

Isn't ironic that one of my children is getting ready to lose some baby teeth while another is getting them in?

Last night Nathan got about six inches from my face to beg me to let him go outside. (He was not allowed to go out and play because he was talking back, and not letting him go outside seems to be the most effective punishment.) I had always thought that his teeth seemed pretty straight, but when he was that close, I noticed that his bottom teeth had become pretty crooked. I asked him to open up and let me look at his teeth. Sure enough, the bottom teeth have all shifted so that they are crooked and there are gaps between teeth. His top teeth have gaps, but they are all still pretty straight. Bruce came over and looked in his mouth and he guessed that Nathan's permanent teeth are starting to come in and that is what is making his other teeth shift. By this time Nathan has to play with his teeth and he discovers that the tooth that is so crooked, is actually lose.

Later that evening I am holding Justin and I was calling him "Buck-tooth Bill" because he has what looks like HUGE front buck teeth just like my brother did. He is laughing when I am calling him Buck-tooth Bill, and I think that I see another tooth is getting ready to poke thru. I try to feel around in his mouth, but all he wants to do is bite down, so I quit searching.
