I don't know if Nathan is trying to figure out a way to score some ice cream after I told him that he wasn't allowed to have any, or what his intentions were. Nathan had asked for some ice cream but I told him that he wasn't allowed because he was talking back and just not listening. He is begging and pleading for some ice cream, but I am firm in my denial. Apparently that required a new strategy on his part.
Nathan: "Can I have some ice cream?"
Me: "No."
Nathan: "But my neck is dry."
Me: "What?"
Nathan: "Derek's neck was dry today and now my neck is. We must have switched necks."
With that, the light dawns and I realize that he is claiming that he has a sore throat.
Me: "Nice try Nathan, but you aren't getting any ice cream. If your throat hurts you need to go to bed."
Nathan: Lots of crying and whining.
I am such a good Mom!
