You have to get a kick out of the fact that kids do not have a filter on their thoughts. They just say whatever is on their mind. Sometimes it is funny and sometimes it is embarrassing. I guess you have to take the good with the bad.
The other night when I told Darren to take his boots off and get ready to take a bath, I happened to be standing next to him when he took his boots off. I said, "Whew! Darren is that your feet that stink?" He looks at me and with complete sincerity goes, "My feet stink because I work hard." I laugh and had to recap it for him, so I ask him, "You worked hard today so that makes your feet stink?" Completely serious, he looks at me and nods yes. Say what??
Nathan is taking a pre-K class that the school puts on once a week for six weeks. Nathan has been really bad at blurting out answers instead of raising his hand and waiting on the teacher to call on him. Before class the other night I was telling him that when he wants to talk, that he needs to raise his hand and wait on the teacher to call on him. Nathan looks at me and says in complete seriousness, "But I know all the answers!"
