School problems

Nathan would probably be embarrassed to know that I am telling everyone this, but I thought that I was going to have to hire a tutor for him. His first spelling test of the year he got a 58%.....a "F". The second spelling test of the year he scored an "A-". Much better. Not sure if he wasn't as prepared for the first test. Or if he was still in summer mode. Or if it was a fluke on this last test and those were easy words for him to remember. Or if the change in how we studied helped. Or if it just starting to click for him. Hopefully we do not have a repeat of that first test grade as he will be in for a long school career if that is the case.

A sad day

One step closer to a toddler, one step away from a baby. Although Justin has not sat in his high chair in the past six months except to make his brothers mad, I cleaned it up and put it away for the final time. Once he got moved to the toddler room at daycare, and there they have to sit on a chair at the table for lunch, he has wanted nothing to do with the high chair. Which didn't surprise me as the older two boys refused to have anything to do with the high chair once they were 18 months old too.

It just pains me to know that my baby took one more step out of the baby stages and towards the toddler stage. A baby stage that I will not be sentimental about outgrowing is diapers!!

Bulls are getting out

This morning, since we have had a cold snap, I let the boys put on their jeans. As I was making sure he was ready, I noticed that his zipper was down.

Me: Darren your zipper is down. Your cows are going to get out.
Darren: No, my bulls are going to get out.

I just sat there kind of speechless as there are so many thoughts running thru my head. Not sure what he meant by that or where he may have heard that.
