The letter "U"
We went to Mom & Dad's last night for a birthday dessert for me since Mom went with Grandma Ernst to an appreciation banquet for my aunt Karen on Tuesday night. While we were there, Mom asked Nathan what letter they were learning in preschool this week. When Nathan told her the letter "U" Mom asked Nathan what he was going to bring in for the letter U. Nathan said he did not know, so Mom got the children's dictionary out and they looked at the items they had listed under that letter. When they got to "uncle", Bill volunteered to come in as his U item. He remembered though that he was going to be about 200 miles north of daycare when they were going to be talking about their U items. Nathan and Mom move to the next item in the dictionary, and it was underwear. Nathan exclaims rather loudly that he wants to bring in his Dad's underwear for his U item. Obviously Bruce is not too excited about this idea, so Mom reads the next item which was uniform. We talked about borrowing Stacey's basketball uniform, but Nathan was not sold on that idea at all! He kept talking about his Dad's underwear, and he wanted to bring in his Dad's old pair with holes. We ask Nathan if he wants to bring in his underwear and he says no because it would be too embarrassing. Bruce tells Nathan that he would be embarrassed if he brought in Bruce's underwear, so they nix the underwear idea. Nathan ended up bringing in an umbrella.
