Foreign Objects

Monday morning about 9:00 am I get a call from daycare saying that Nathan has a stone in his year and they will not attempt to remove it. A stone! I immediately call his doctor to ask if they can remove it, or if I would need to see an ear, nose & throat doctor. She checks and gets back on the phone and informs me that they can not remove the stone in the office and that I would have to either go to the ER or to an ear, nose & throat doctor. I get online to see who is in our network and give them a call. They take my information and said that they will see what they can do to get me in and they will give me a call back. While I wait for them to call me back I call daycare with the intentions of talking to Nathan to see if I can get some more information from him. When I call they tell me that it has fallen out already. As soon as I hang up with daycare, I get a call from the doctors office if I can bring him in right away. I tell them thanks, but no thanks as the stone had already fallen out. Needless to say, that brought on the talk of not sticking anything in your ears or nose.

Darren has got into a habit of throwing punches when he gets mad. Of course we scold him when he does it to Nathan, but it is pretty funny because Nathan usually deserves it. This morning I corrected him about something while I was carrying him, and I grabbed his hand and immediately told him that you do not punch Mom. He then gave me some attitude. I have to fight him in the morning on what pair of shoes he can wear, or what coat as he likes to wear his spring coat when he really needs to be wearing his winter coat. Like Nathan, all he wants to wear anymore is jeans. He only has one pair and then a pair of overalls. Well, do you know how hard it is to find boys jeans in 9 months? Or 12 months that aren't too big around the waist for him? I almost bought a girls pair the other day that didn't look girly, but I backed off with the thought that summer is right around the corner.
