Circus

I have always loved the circus. Many, many years ago when a broke, college boyfriend asked what I wanted for my birthday I told him that he could take me to see the circus. For some reason the Shrine circus always comes to the UD arena around my birthday. About a month ago I got online to see when the actual dates were and then ordered some tickets for all of us. I originally selected the best available seats for the show and after I seen the prices, I changed that to second best seating. With the convenience charge, arena charge and order processing charge, it still cost us $46. and some change for three tickets! Darren got in free! Then if I wanted to print the tickets from the website there was a $3 charge! If you got them mailed to you, there was no additional costs. Guess which option I chose?

The circus ended up starting a half hour late, so the boys were a little antsy to start with. They thought the tiger and elephant show were neat. After about a hour, they had an intermission. I took the boys out to the concession area and let them just stand and run around for a while so that they would sit for the next half of the show. With the exception of the elephants and tigers in the first half, the second half of the circus was much better. Darren didn't want to sit still and then after about a half hour Nathan said he was hungry. We managed to hold him off a little bit longer, but by then Darren was an absolute handful and Nathan was pretty whiny so we left. It was about 6:15 or so.

We then went North to the Benchwood exit and got in line at the Olive Garden. Since it was such a nice day, the boys did not mind waiting outside for our table to be ready. It was prom night, and they had a bunch of girls in fancy dresses and boys in tuxes walking in and out for the half hour or so that we waited. The only time Nathan remembers anyone dressing up like that was from Carla's wedding, so he decided that all these people were getting married. It was quite comical. Once we were inside and seated the waiter came over to take our drink order. He asked if we wanted any appetizers. We told him no and then laughed when I said that we would have to make this as quick as possible as the boys wouldn't sit still long. Our food was served and when he came back to check on us, the boys were getting antsy and he admitted that we knew what we were talking about.

On the way out to the car later, both boys wanted to hold my hand. So I would walk with them, but when we had to walk between two cars, I would make Darren walk in front of me and Nathan behind me. Nathan said that he wanted to walk in front, but I told him that he had to walk behind me in case my pants fell down. So he decides to pull them down! In the middle of the parking lot at Olive Garden. They didn't come down much lower than the fullest part of my hips, but he thought it was the best.
