Wednesday Ramblings

Monday evening I thought Darren’s eye looked a little pink, but I just assumed that one of his brothers (Nathan) hit him in the eye. He wakes up Tuesday morning and goes to the bathroom. When he comes back into the bedroom while I am getting his brothers dressed, he tells me that his eye boogers hurt. I pull him into the light and discover that he has Pink Eye. After some serious worrying and scrambling on my part, I finally find some medicine eye drops. That was a serious relief as I wasn’t sure what I was going to do for a sitter if I couldn’t find those eye drops.

Justin has been suffering from a cold for the past several days and so last night I drugged my kid up so he would sleep. He refused to eat dinner last night so I stuck him in the tub. After his bath, about 7:00 he wanted a Pop-Tart. I told him that he couldn’t have that until he took some medicine. He was disappointed that it was not the chewable generic Tylenol that tastes like candy, but the Benadryl that has a funny taste. He took it without too much complaining and fell asleep on the couch. He sounded like he was breathing better when I carried him to bed later that evening.

It was Grandparents Day at school yesterday for Nathan. He had his Grandma Joan and Grandpa Mark there and his Grandma Deb. Grandpa Ken was supposed to go but got ‘busy’ and forgot. I tried to get some details out of him, but the only thing he could recall was that he had an easy afternoon at school and ate cookies and drank juice.
