Since I knew that Nathan got bored (which then got him in trouble) at daycare when he was there all day, and there were no boys his age to play with, I decided to look into alternative daycare for him this summer. My parents had offered to watch Nathan during the summer, but I knew that would make Darren made since he would still have to go to daycare. I had heard great things about the Sidney YMCA summer day camp which is geared for kids out of school for the summer. Since they take field trips, they go swimming, they sign the kids up for the library summer reading program, I felt that Nathan would have fun and hopefully yet learn something. Since I work in Sidney, it really wouldn't be out of my way to drop him off and pick him up.
Two Mondays ago was his first day at the day camp and when I picked him later that day, I asked him how it was. "Okay" was his response. Uh-oh. Then I remembered that the kids from Sidney had their last day of school that day so there probably wasn't many kids around and they probably did not do many activites. The next day, Tuesday, when I picked Nathan up and asked him how it was, he told me it was great! The next morning when I was dropping him off, one of the teachers asked me how Nathan liked it. I told her that he really seemed to like it and I am glad as I was wondering if I had made the right choice. She told me that she was glad that Nathan liked it and she told me what a great kid he is. He is very polite, helpful and always has a big smile. (I should have told her to see if he was still a good kid after she got to know him a little bit)
I obviously think that Nathan is a good kid, but it is nice to hear from someone else that they think he is a good kid too.

Is the camp every weekday, all summer long? Also, I agree with you how it is good to hear nice things about your kid. As parents, I think we hear more of the bad stuff that happens than the good.
Yep. All day, everyday. It is ran by the weeks, so Nathan did not go last week as we were on vacation. He is not going the week of the 4th and a few other weeks too.
