Update on Justin's doctor visits

I apologize as I have been so busy at work that I have not had a chance to do more posting and also give an update to Justin's health.

On Valentine's Day (Saturday) I took him to Children's to have an upper GI done. They had him drink some barium while they were taking live shots of his chest. It was confirmed that he does have reflux as we could see the liquid coming back up. He never spit it up, but it definitely tried to come back out. The following Friday I took him back to Children's for an appointment with the pulmonologist. He said that Justin's pediatrician wanted him to check for three things. 1) A birth defect of the esophagus (?) 2) Baby asthma and 3) Bronchitis because of the reflux. He immediately ruled out a birth defect, and then asked some questions. After giving him our answers, he is pretty sure that he does not have baby asthma. He feels that he has chronic bacterial bronchitis because when he spits up, particles of food gets into his airways of his lungs. We have to go back for a follow-up appointment in four weeks, and they are going to do a sweat chloride test. The doctor said that all newborns are tested for cystic fibrosis before they leave the hospital, and he doubts that is an issue, but he would like rule it out again.
