Yesterday while I was posting about Justin's visit to Children's, I had a nagging suspicion that I would be posting about it again in a different format. Justin has bronchitis again, and he has an ear infection in his right ear. They sent me to the hospital to test for RSV, but luckily that test came back negative. The doctor was sure to remind me that the test is not a 100% accurate though.
I assumed over the weekend that he had bronchitis again, so I called the doctor first thing Monday morning. I asked to speak to Lucy who is the nurse that always takes us to the room and takes his vitals. She was on vacation, so they said that they would take my name and number and have another nurse call me back shortly. The doctor then called me back personally about ten minutes later. He suggested that I try to get in with the pulmonologist, but if I couldn't get in with him to call his office and schedule an appointment. Well, the pulmonologist is on call this week and not seeing patients. The office also told me that they are overbooked for the next several days. I call his pedi back to schedule an appointment, but they are also overbooked for that day. I get an appointment for the next morning. I meet my Mom and Justin was diagnosed with exactly what I diagnosed myself.
We need to get this chronic bronchitis to stop! He has had bronchitis three times in twelve weeks. A little guy shouldn't have to go thru that; at least not that often.
