Justin had a big weekend of firsts. He has learned to crawl and he got his first black eye.
He has been up on all fours for a month or better, and he has been launching himself from all fours, but he actually crawled and made progress Saturday. The older two boys played outside yesterday (Sunday) and so I brought Justin into the kitchen with me while I was making soup. He got on all floors from the middle of the kitchen, crawled over to the refrigerator where he proceeded to pull all the letter magnets off the fridge that he could reach. As soon as I seen him pulling them off, I immediately pushed them up and he got all mad but he managed to pull about half a dozen off. Then he tries to eat the letters. It was another bittersweet moment. I seem to be having a lot of those lately.
His first, and I guarantee not the last, black eye came about Saturday. We were in the "diaper changing room" at Elder-Beerman's. They took what looked like an office, and put in a huge counter top with a sink on one end and put up a border about six inches tall on the other end of the counter. He would look into the mirror and laugh or look at me in the mirror and laugh. He was doing the huge belly laugh which would get me laughing. I had changed his poopy diaper and went to the sink to wash my hands. I left him on the counter since he was having so much fun and he got up on all fours to watch me. I think he tried to crawl out of his box, and his hand slipped and he fell with his right eye hitting the side of the border. It instantly swelled up and gave him a little cut. It never really bled, but by Sunday morning it looked like he had purple eyeshadow on his eyelid. He is a tough critter because he barely cried.
