Snowed in!!

Earlier this week my Dad decided that if we were all available, that we would butcher a steer for hamburger only. Since Bruce only works a few hours on Friday and Patty & Tony didn't have to work, it was decided that we would start butchering after lunch on Friday.
I was supposed to work all day, but with the snowstorm that blew in, I only had to work until 3:00 before they sent me home. By the time I picked the boys up, went home and changed clothes, it was probably about 4:30-4:45 until I got out to the farm. There was also probably about a foot of snow on the ground and lots of wind blowing which created drifts several feet high. My sister Carla showed up after she got off of work, so she showed up about 6:30. At that point we knew that we either had to spend the night or steal Bill's truck to get home.

We decided that we were going to spend the night, so we had a few beers. We spent the night, and are still stuck at Mom & Dad's. Bruce went with my brother this morning and got a part for their snow blower, and Bruce said that the roads are horrible and that there is no way we are getting home anytime soon. I guess that means for the duration, we are all stuck here with Carla and her kids. It has been a full house!

UPDATE: It was after 3 o'clock before Dad deemed it safe for us kids to leave the house with our kids. Dad had seen several snowplows go down our road and St Rt 705, so apparently he finally felt that we were relatively safe to drive home. Carla was risking the Darke County Level 3 Emergency to get home. She said that a fine/ticket would be worth it just so she could get home and take a shower.
