I am used to working a forty-plus hour week and coming home and running around to get dinner on the table, the kids a bath, cleaning up dinner dishes and preparing things to do it all over again the next day. By about 8:00 pm I have to stop cleaning or paying bills, or doing dishes or whatever I am be doing to sit down so that the kids will settle down for the night. They will play and/or follow me around until I do sit down. Since I am up by 5:30, and Nathan fights us every night on going to bed, that when he does go to bed about 9:30, I am more than ready to go to bed myself.
We are only on the second day of swim lessons, but it has been exhausting so far. I get home and rush around trying to get the boys something to eat, make sure everything is packed for swim lessons and get myself ready. By the time we get home it is after 8:00 and we need a snack/meal. Then of course they want to play when they need baths because they are so keyed up from swim lessons. At least I don't have many dishes since we aren't eating meals. I never got much done during the week, but it is even worse now. I basically keep the damage to a minimum during the week, and on weekends is when I get stuff accomplished. I can't even keep the damage to a minimum at this point. I know things are only going to get more hectic when I have three kids at home. At least I will be faster on my feet after the baby is born. (I hope)
