Another hospital visit

It has been a few days since this happened, but I have been super busy with work. Over the weekend we were at a friends house enjoying his pool in the hot weather. Sunday morning I was in the shower and Darren comes in and said his ear hurt. I didn't say much and he starts crying that his ear hurts. I ask if he hit it. No. I ask if he put anything in his ear. No. I ask if a bee stng him. No. By this time he is really wailing. After I get out of the shower I give him some Tylenol. It doesn't help and after an hour he is still crying and whining about his ear hurting. I decide I am going to take him to Urgent Care.

We get to Urgent Care and luckily there was no line so by the time I filled out the paperwork, we were shown directly to an exam room. The nurse practitioner looks in his ears and said that his ear canals are to full of wax to see the ear drum. They decided to flush the ear to see if they can see anything. He gets both his ears flushed and they said that his ear canal looked a little red, but that could be due to flushing. She speculates that there was water in his ear and the wax shifted causing the water to be trapped. He acted like it felt much better, so we left.

After we were home about a half hour he started complaining that his ear hurt again. I took him into the bathroom, stripped him down and started flushing his ear. The whining, crying and complaining went on for about another hour when I took him with me to the dollar store to get some more drugs. I give him the drugs and told him to lay on my bed with me since he just wanted to be held. We couldn't go in the living room because Nathan and Justin were napping and his crying would have woken them up. He finally fell asleep. When he woke up later his ear was fine. Now I wonder if some of his pain didn't simply come from him being exhausted...
