Sleepless in Ohio

I admit it. I am spoiled by the fact that my kids all slept thru the night at a couple weeks old and rarely get up in the middle of the night. Darren was developing the habit of waking up in the middle of the night, but as soon as we took him out of the crib, I don't think we have had a problem with him since. I digress.

Last night we put the boys to bed and went to bed our self. As many of you know, I like my sleep. Therefore it pretty typical in our house to for Bruce and I to be in bed by 9:30-10:00. At about 10:00, I had just drifted of to sleep and I hear Bruce asking me if I hear "that?" I wake up and hear Justin crying. I wait ten minutes or so to see if he soothes himself back to sleep. When he doesn't fall back asleep, I get up with him. I take him out to my chair and hold him for about five minutes. I put him back to bed and go to bed myself. At about 1:00 I repeat the routine, but this time I give him a sippy cup of milk to drink on my lap while I calm him down. After some time, I put him back to bed. I just lay down when he starts crying again. I gave him ten minutes to settle himself, and he did stop crying at about minute nine.

I am not sure if he is having nightmares or what. He has been sleeping and eating a lot lately so maybe he is going thru a growth spurt and he is getting "growing pains." He woke up about 4:30 am on Friday night, but fell back to sleep after a few minutes. Not sure what is going on.

Hey, I could have called you up and kept you company. Blake kept getting up all night last night, too. He finally fell asleep for good at about 4:15.
