In Nathan's preschool class, when they learn a new letter, most of the time they are asked to bring something in that begins with that letter. At the beginning of the year when my Dad heard of this, he immediately told Nathan that when they get to "P" that he should bring in pig poop and pig pee. Last night when we were trying to figure out what to bring in for the letter "P", guess what Nathan suggests? Yep, pig poop and pig pee. I told him that it wasn't happening but maybe we could call Grandpa, and he or Grandma, would bring a pig in for him. Of course he manages to sweet-talk Grandpa into bringing a pig for his "P."
In addition to bringing in something for the letter that they are learning this week, they are learning about the food groups and they are currently on the dairy group (what I call it) or the milk group (what Nathan calls it because it was probably easier for him to remember it that way). They were supposed to bring in their favorite dairy/milk product for their class. Nathan of course picks ice cream.
Because I forgot all about bringing in something from the food group, we were at Wagner's this morning at 7:10 to buy our ice cream. Of course the boys wanted donuts and they had to get them themselves; I wasn't allowed to help them. Nathan & Darren had to carry their own donut around the store, and I thought Darren was going to drop his several times. He had to carry it out to the van, and then into daycare when we got there. He then got his chair to sit down and eat his breakfast but the donut just sat there. I got the boys something to drink and signed in and did all the necessary things and when I went to get my goodbye kisses and hugs, Darren still didn't touch his donut. I broke off an piece and tried to feed it to him, but he didn't want anything to do with it. I asked if he wanted a Pop Tart and he said yes. So I got him a Pop Tart and I ate the donut on the way to work this morning!
