This post reminds me of a game and maybe a show that was popular 15-20 years that my sister used to play all the time. It was called, "Where in the world is Carmen Sandiego?" (I think that was her last name) This is the newest, most updated version of that game.
We were at the neighbor's house on Saturday night so the kids could play, the adults could visit and we could all watch the town fireworks. Before I knew it, it was 1 am. I took the younger two boys home and put Justin to bed. Darren went to bed, but when I was getting ready for bed he comes running into my room and asks to sleep beside my bed. Since it was late and I was tired, I said that was fine. Fast forward to Sunday morning about 8:00 am. I hear Darren jump up real quick and run around my side of the bed towards to door. He sees Nathan laying on the floor next to Bruce (for the same reasons I mentioned earlier) and does an about face and lays back down on my side of the bed where he falls back asleep for a few more hours.
The same thing was repeated Monday morning with a slight twist. About 7:30 Darren comes running into our room because he couldn't find Nathan. Nathan apparently came into our bedroom sometime during the night, but once Darren seen Nathan, he laid down beside my bed and falls asleep for a few more hours.
Apparently Nathan's presence reassures Darren. It also looks like Darren is afraid that he is going to miss something, so if he wakes up and doesn't see Nathan, he has to go looking for him in case something really fun is going on.

I remember that show! And I have to admit that Kelly's presence reassured me on many nights, even after we had our own rooms. She'd let me sleep with her if I had a bad dream.
